Our story is one of adapting to change and rolling with the punches, a model set in to place by a hard working european immigrant. Paul Gavora built his business ahead of large chain stores that would soon come and provide competition, he did what it took to survive so he could put food on the counter for his nine children and to this day nothing has changed. Gavoras Fine Wine was established in 1963, and for over half a century has been leading the Fairbanks market in retail innovations. From being the first fine wine specialty store in town we have stayed on top of adapting to trends by implementing Fairbanks first growler bar, developing Fairbanks largest home brewing selection, our single beer "Pick 6" program, and the list goes on. Just like the man who started our family run business we seek to develop in order to please the customer and provide a pleasant shopping experience for all.
